Biomass Power Projects & Trading

As a founding Director of Prenergy Power and CEO for MGT Power, Chris has considerable experience of the whole lifecycle of concept evaluation, business setup, funding, site acquisition, project funding, concept design, permitting, EPC/ O&M and ultimately monetisation (exit) process.

Chris has built physical and financial trading desks managing the procurement of biomass fibre and the development of new ship loading terminals, for example Statkraft’s Tofte operation.

EfW and RDF Trading

In the 1990s Chris was part of the Cory PowerGen JV that developed the UK's largest EfW plant (now Riverside), and the Kemsley Waste Paper EfW plant (a large FBC). More recently CMEI has advised clients on the identification of greenfield development sites for new small scale EfW projects and the acquisition of permitted projects. Feedstock counterparties have included Geminor, Transwaste, N+P.

Bio Fuels & Plastics Chemical Recycling

  • identification of port-located facilities for biofuels & biomass feedstocks
  • development of international feedstock supply solutions.

CCGT / OCGTs

Picture
Chris was Enron's PM for the 1200MWe CCGT project developed at Rassau industrial estate in Wales and the 1200MWe Avonmouth project. Both projects were to be bank financed, using GE 9FA or Siemens V94 GTs.

More recently CMEI has been advising a client on the use of aeroderivative GTs with water injection for EV fast charging projects at larger motorway intersections.
